Founded in 1961 and member of Emmaus International since 1971. The Emmaus Geneva community is made up of 3 sites: the “lieu de vie”, where 30 companions live, the “Halte Emmaüs Femmes”, which accommodates 10 single women, and 2 second-hand stores (bric-à-brac). The companions have 6 collection trucks for textiles and furniture to supply the second-hand stores, which are visited by 200 customers every day. The Communauté Emmaüs Genève also has 1 truck dedicated to deliveries and 2 others for collecting bulky items, scrap metal, paper and glass. The group also has 210 clothing collection points in the canton of Geneva.
