Founded in 1949, the Emmaüs Movement places the social project and solidarity well ahead of economic or individualistic considerations.
It promotes an alternative model of society, where work and community life enable people to (re)build themselves while helping others. The movement unites over 38,000 individuals in France, including volunteers, companions, salaried employees, and those in integration schemes. It also has a presence in 37 countries worldwide. Constantly evolving, it is both a factory of social innovation and a committed frontline campaigner for a fairer and more ecological society, thanks to its historical activity of collecting, reusing and reselling objects.
