Glen Development Initiative

The Glen Development Initiative is a community organisation passionate about uplifting and creating opportunities in the local area. They run a number of workshops including Recycle Reimagine. Participants of the scheme have the opportunity to work with preloved materials to design and create something new. So far, they have made thrones, tables and benches from donated cable reels. The course is an opportunity to not only reimagine materials but also learn the skills to construct furniture. GDI also is the home to the Glen Men’s Shed. The Shed creates a safe space in the community for men to come together and connect. They are constantly finding new ways to utilise materials that would otherwise be sent to landfill.
